By default, does the half-life sprite show when you use the gametitle attribute in worldspawn? I turned it on, but it doesn't show up on game start.
Is there something in the code that stops it from showing? Tried the default, doesn't work. Tried the sprite on half-life itself and it works. The hud.txt is the same as it was for hl only modified.
I wanted to put that on my Nikki mod for the first map.
Try c0a0, if the logo isn't shown even there, consider writing a bug report.
PS: uncle mike, пока тебя нет, я похвастаюсь, что все баги с нерассылкой лого и затемнения экрана мною решены (особенно в мультиплеере). Эти наработки можно утырить и в Ксашыксти.
Okay, thanks for the clarification! I'll just go there when I have something to post. I'll try to check the original XashXT dlls on halflife and if it doesn't work, I'll post it there.
I think I wasn't clear on that one, I meant half-life on Xash( the valve folder). I'll just see if they can run on half-life unmodified first and then my implementation.
The first thing that I did was I transfered the files individually from the mod to another fresh copy of XashXT. First, I tried out my map with the gametitle on, and it worked. I then copied everything from then on.
I did it incrementally from the wads, to the shell gfx, etc. then the last was titles.txt, i disregarded all of the cfgs (except for skills.cfg which was needed). I then realized that XashXT doesn't have everything in it (since, as it's said in the readme, it needs HL to run). Since the XashXT demo uses game_text instead of env_message, it doesn't use Titles.txt. The shock then came to happen when I removed the titles.txt from my mod and the title screen just appeared!
I examined the titles.txt contents and found:
code:
// Game title
// This is a placeholder to hold the effects controls for the "Half-Life" title
This was supposed to be included when I used titles.txt. i placed the missing lines (of course it was long enough that I didn't place it here) and the thing worked!
For those who use titles.txt, if you want to modify it, don't remove the in-game message part of it (from GAMESAVED to GAMETITLE). They're needed by the game since their effects aren't hardcoded in the code.
