Sorry to question again, to tell the truth, I only know mapping modelling and design stuff and I'm still a noob at C++, but I'm wiling to learn.
Now for the question, Is there any way to place a sprite that comes up whenever the game begins (and add an entity that triggers it?) Just asking, because I wanted to implement face sprites like in cutscenes. i know it's too far off, but I couldn't find any way to ask. Thanks a lot!
I'll try to find that, but I'm still confused about adding entities, then adding it appropriately to the code, then placing it in the fgd for use. I'm experimenting it a bit starting with text using this tutorial here which worked, but I still can't figure out how to do graphics in hud. If someone can hand out a more compatible tutorial for hud sprites in XashXT, I would truly appreciate it.
I saw the hud_sprite in the code alright, but is there a way to utilize the hud_sprite as a trigger target similar to env_message?
You call the sprite name defined in hud.txt or something. This can be useful for adding stuff in the hud such as documents that the player reads or when the player is on the phone and the sprite for the person the player is talking to is there (which is the purpose of why I'm asking). This can also supplement a cellphone weapon that can only be used when the player is in a brush entity trigger.
Ku2zoff, domded, you were both right for one thing. There is an entity called hud_sprite ready for mapping.
Damn, I just want to sit myself in the corner and rethink of myself.
But then now that there is something to display the hud, the problem now is to make a cellphone weapon that can only be used on a specific spot/ brush entity, which I'll be placing in a new post.
Yeah, about the placement, can there be some way to modify the entity so that the sprite can be positioned anywhere like an X & Y parameter?
